Year-end Gratitude: 2019 Achievements

The IEOCC’s quarterly all-coalition meeting on December 10th was attended by more than 50 individual leaders in health care, public health, and public safety, from across the Inland Empire. The group reflected on the coalition’s achievements, a small number of which are listed here. Achievements are organized by the work of each of our four topical workgroups.

  • Access to Treatment

    • ED Bridge data from three programs show fast growth, with 90 total patients seen in September, and 53 patients successful after 30 days in the largest program at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center

    • Increase in both counties in buprenorphine prescribing, 2017 to 2018 (per CDPH Opioid Dashboard)

    • More than 200 patients participating in Medication Assisted Treatment within a model that includes integrated behavioral health, in Inland Empire Health Plan’s grant pilot

  • Safe Prescribing

    • 4 Town Hall meetings hosted with Education and Engagement Workgroup

    • New partnerships with chain pharmacies and independent pharmacies

  • Prevention and Public Agencies: New workgroup formed in 2019, with goals to engage law enforcement and community groups.

  • E&E: In addition to Town Halls, supported new IEOCC website and this newsletter.
